Most people start to work online because they want to break free from the daily grind of working for somebody else.
They want to take control over their lives, often in the hope that it is going to give them a far better lifestyle and larger income.
In order to do this, they try and look for solutions online that can help them. 12 Minute Affiliate is one of those solutions I see pop up a lot, so I decided I would write a 12 Minute Affiliate review.
Is this course a scam or legit?
What is the 12 Minute Affiliate?
12 Minute Affiliate is a product that claims it can make you an income online in as little as 12-minutes. A ridiculously short amount of time, although I will discuss that in a short while.
It claims to have you setting up sales funnels to promote Clickbank products. You will then pay 12 Minute Affiliate to send traffic directly to your sales page, and you will make money like that.
I am going to discuss this a little bit more in a short while too. With 12 Minute Affiliate, you will be collecting a commission on any product that you sell from your sales pages, and with the products that you are promoting, this could deliver a good chunk of cash.
Who is Devon Brown?
Devon Brown created the 12 Minute Affiliate.
There isn't that much to say about him. He seems like he tries to keep himself to himself.
He is a real person, and he does claim to be a successful entrepreneur, but it is not clear what areas of business he has had success in.
This does make it a little bit more difficult to judge whether he is the right person to teach this sort of stuff. Although, he is semi-successful on YouTube and he has gained a following on social media. I suppose he knows what he is talking about enough for people to hang on his every word.
So, Devon Brown likely has had success in the world of affiliate marketing, but he certainly isn't one of the big guys. In fact, he probably gets most of his income from having people sign up to 12 Minute Affiliate. This probably isn't a good sign.
Is the 12 Minute Affiliate a Scam or Legit?
I am very reluctant to call most products that I review a scam. This is because most of them are not. In my mind, for something to be a scam, you have to get nothing for your money.
It must be the equivalent of just throwing your money into a drain i.e. you are not going to get anything back. This isn't a scam, but that doesn't necessarily mean that the claims the product makes are true.
That being said, it is a course that does struggle to live up to the claims that it makes. The whole course name is based on the fact that you can make a liveable income with just 12-minutes per day spare.
You can't. Running a business takes hours and hours of work. Believe me, I would love if there was a button I could press that would put over $400 into my account per day for doing nothing more than hitting that button. There isn't.
There isn't really anything groundbreaking about this course. While it claims to teach you how to make money online, there is very little teaching that takes place. The entire product is designed to filter you through to buying traffic.
So, if you follow the 12 Minute affiliate product, you are not really going to be learning anything new from the course. In fact, if you want to learn affiliate marketing, this 100% is not the place that you want to be.
12 Minute Affiliate Review: How it Works
So, now is the part where I start to talk about how 12 MInute Affiliate works. I want to break this down into two sections. The actual course content, plus the method that Devon Brown wants you to be using to make money.
The Course Content
There is very little on the actual course content front. In fact, Devon Brown pretty much keeps the information basic here.
I suppose this is to ensure that you never learn enough to actually be able to breakaway from 12 Minute Affiliate. The real money for Devon Brown is ensuring that you stick around and continue to use 12 Minute Affiliate.
The course content will pretty much consist of teaching you a little bit about affiliate marketing, email marketing, and creating sale funnels. You won't learn anything about generating traffic.
This is because Devon doesn't want you to know about generating traffic outside of 12 Minute Affiliate. As a result, it is pretty tough to see this as a complete affiliate marketing course as it does leave a few things out.
Quite a few things, in fact. This is part of the reason why I wouldn't recommend it. You don't really learn anything.
The 12 Minute Affiliate Method
There are a few stages to the 12 Minute Affiliate method:
I think the first two parts are pretty self-explanatory. If you are interested in affiliate marketing, then I have no doubt that you will have heard of both Clickbank and Aweber. One of them is an affiliate network and the other is an email marketing system.
The third stage is when we start to see how expensive the course actually gets. When you sign up for an account with 12 Minute Affiliate you will be asked to select one of three niches:
Choosing Your Niche
You only have one opportunity to make this choice. The other two choices will be locked out unless you pay more money to Devon for them (we will discuss exact pricing shortly). Your choice will determine the type of products that you will be promoting.
It will determine what your landing page looks like. It is a very limited selection. As you can imagine, if you started your own online business elsewhere, then you would be able to choose any niche that you want.
Here, you just have three options. Granted, they are probably the biggest money-making niches, but it would be nice to have a bit more control, right?
You will then connect your AWeber account to the landing page that 12 Minute Affiliate creates for you. I have to give credit where credit is due here. The course does tell you exactly what you need to do in order to set up the landing pages.
It is a dead-simple process, even if you know nothing about online affiliate marketing. If you don't know what you are doing, or you are just too lazy to spend a few minutes doing everything, then you can pay 12 Minute Affiliate to do it all for you.
Setting up Your Email Responder
The next step is to set-up your autoresponder to promote products to the people that sign up through your landing page. Everything is pre-written and so it is a case of just copy and pasting everything over.
If you are using AWeber, as 12 Minute Affiliate suggests, then everything that you need to do will be clearly explained for you. If you aren't using Aweber, then you will need to find out your own information.
Once everything is 'hooked up' you can then buy traffic from 12 Minute Affiliate. Now, I have no idea where 12 Minute Affiliate gets its traffic from. To me, that is suspicious enough. You are also going to be offered absolutely no guarantees with this traffic. You could easily buy thousands of clicks on your website, but you may not see a single sign-up to your email list.
This is frustrating because it is a gamble every single time that you spend money with 12 Minute Affiliate on traffic. At least if you build up your own system you would have a little bit more control over how everything related to it works. Here, you are leaving traffic generation in the hands of somebody else. You cannot run a successful business like this.
At this point, the system that Devon dubs as 'Sleep-Sales Technology' kicks into place. Now, you would think that this is something that is rather sophisticated based upon the name. It isn't.
It simply means that your autoresponder could potentially send out emails while you are sleeping which could potentially make you money. This is just like every other form of affiliate marketing ever. It isn't some technology that Devon has come up with himself. It is just a fancy name.
The major problem is that, despite what Devon claims, you are not guaranteed to make money with their traffic. in fact, a lot of people don't. It certainly isn't going to be making you the $400 profit per month that Devon claims it will make. You are certainly not going to get a high 50% conversion rate like he claims either.
Pricing and Upsells
So, now that is out of the way, let's get into the pricing part of the product. You know, the real important stuff.
These are the costs that are always going to be the same. So, if you use 12 Minute Affiliate, then you will need to budget for these every single month:
So, right away, you are going to be spending over $1,000 per month on something which is pretty limited. However, don't worry, there are more ways that you can spend money on 12 Minute Affiliate if you want.
If you want access to all three niches (remember, you only get one with your basic membership) then you need to upgrade to the Gold Membership. This is either $97 per month or $797 as a single payment.
The second upsell is a coaching service. However, you will only be learning how to use the 12 Minute Affiliate system here. You won't be learning about other areas of affiliate marketing, so I do struggle to see it being worth the additional costs.
If you want to learn how to be an affiliate marketer, then there are so many other courses out there that can teach you that for a far lower price than the coaching on offer here.
There is a 60-Day money-back guarantee on 12 Minute Affiliate. However, this isn't actually provided by the course creator. It is a Clickbank standard.
So, don't think that Devon Brown is trying to say "yeah, I am this confident my product will work that you can have your money back in 60-days if it doesn't", because he isn't.
He is simply offering exactly what Clickbank has told him that he needs to be offering.
I suppose it is nice having a 60-day money-back guarantee anyway. Clickbank will always help you to get your money back if you run into any problems with the product!
Pros and Cons
So, now comes the big job of trying to summarize everything into the pros and cons. If you must read one thing on this page, please make sure that it is this.
If you want to make money online without learning anything, then 12 Minute Affiliate could potentially work for you. It wouldn't hurt to learn more on this webinar to see if it's for you.
There are no income guarantees, but some people have made money from the service. It is going to be a decent way to learn the absolute basics of affiliate marketing.
However, it is not something I could 100% recommend if you want to take making money online seriously.
Fortunately I have other options for you to choose from.
