Welcome to my Dropship Unlocked review. If you're based in the UK and looking for a high-ticket dropshipping course, you've probably come across Lewis Smith and his program. I took his free training, went through the paid course pitch, and spent time digging into what you actually get for your money.
Short version: there are things I like about it, but at £3,000+ (just over 4K USD) it has a lot to prove. Let me break it down properly.
⚠️ Dropship Unlocked 2026 Update
Dropship Unlocked is still active and accepting new students in 2026. Lewis Smith continues to run the program and has expanded his presence significantly — he now co-hosts The Dropship Unlocked Podcast with James Eardley, covering high-ticket dropshipping, Shopify, and Google Ads strategies for UK entrepreneurs. The course holds a 4.8 rating on Trustpilot based on student reviews.
The core model — now officially trademarked as the Home-Turf Advantage™ — focuses on sourcing products from UK suppliers rather than overseas, which remains a genuine differentiator in the dropshipping space.
The main thing that hasn't changed is the price. More on that below.
⭐ My Dropship Unlocked Rating: 2.5 out of 5
Dropship Unlocked earns credit for targeting the UK market specifically, teaching high-ticket dropshipping rather than cheap AliExpress products, and maintaining an active community and coaching structure.
It loses marks for a price that is very hard to justify, a sign-up process designed to pressure you into a decision, and content that experienced dropshippers won't find particularly deep. If you're a complete UK beginner with a serious budget, it's worth considering. For everyone else, there are better-priced options.
Is Dropship Unlocked Still Available?
Yes — the course is still available in 2026. You access it through the free training on Lewis's website, and from there you'll be directed to book a call to discuss the paid program.
Worth noting: the course content and community remain active. Lewis and his team post regular updates, and the podcast shows the brand is still growing. This isn't a course that's been quietly abandoned.
What is Dropship Unlocked?
Dropship Unlocked is a UK-focused dropshipping course built around the Home-Turf Advantage™ model — Lewis's term for sourcing products from UK-based suppliers rather than relying on manufacturers in China or other overseas markets.
The practical advantage of this approach is significant. UK suppliers mean faster delivery times for your customers, fewer import headaches, and a more professional operation overall. If you've read any honest breakdown of how dropshipping actually works, you'll know that shipping times are one of the biggest pain points in the traditional model — so Lewis is solving a real problem here.
Unlike most dropshipping courses that teach you to sell cheap, low-margin products, Dropship Unlocked focuses on high-ticket items. The idea is that you sell less frequently but each sale is worth significantly more — enough to cover you for days when nothing sells.
I think the model makes sense in theory. In practice, high-ticket items come with longer sales cycles, more demanding customers, and higher stakes when something goes wrong. It's not the easiest starting point for a complete beginner.
The Free Course
The free course is positioned as a complete introduction to building a UK dropshipping business without using AliExpress, eBay, or social media ads. It's a pre-recorded webinar and it's genuinely watchable — Lewis knows how to present and the content is clear enough.
But let's be honest about what it is. It's a funnel.
The free training gives you just enough to get excited about the model without giving you enough to actually do anything with it. At the end you're directed to book a call. That's the entire purpose of the free course — not to teach you, but to warm you up for the sale.
I'll give Lewis credit for making it feel natural. He doesn't pressure you into anything during the free content itself. You might get the odd follow-up email, but he's smart enough to know that you can't force someone into a £3,000 decision. So he lets you come to him.
How Much Does Dropship Unlocked Cost?
This is where things get complicated — because there are two tiers and neither is advertised publicly.
The basic package starts at £997. The full package — which includes more coaching, additional modules, and closer access to Lewis and his team — runs to £3,000 or more, with some sources citing a figure of around £3,194.
You only find out the exact price after completing a 16-page survey and sitting through a 45-minute call with Lewis or a member of his team. That call is structured as a consultation, but it's a sales call. The questions are designed to get you to articulate your goals so they can be reflected back at you as reasons to buy.
I don't love this approach. At this price point, putting the cost behind a call is a deliberate friction tactic — it filters out people who aren't willing to commit time, and it puts you in a position where you've already invested effort before you hear the number.
Refund policy: There is a 14-day refund window, but it comes with conditions. You cannot have accessed more than 25% of the course content and you cannot have joined the private Facebook group. Practically speaking, most students will have done both of those things within the first week — so the refund window is narrower than it sounds. Always ask about this directly on the call.
The Paid Course
The paid course runs over six weeks with one module released per week. This is my biggest structural criticism of the program. I personally prefer courses that open everything up from day one — you might want to jump to a specific section, revisit a module, or move faster than the schedule allows. Being gated to one module per week feels slow and limiting.
The content itself covers the standard dropshipping fundamentals — product selection, store setup, advertising — but with a genuine UK focus throughout. Finding reliable UK dropshipping suppliers is genuinely harder than finding overseas ones, and the course does address this properly.
You also get:
- Live Q&A calls with Lewis and his team
- Two one-on-one coaching calls (full package)
- Access to a private Facebook community
- Lifetime updates to the course material
The live coaching element is real value. If you're paying thousands of pounds for a course, having direct access to ask questions of someone with real UK ecommerce experience is worth something. The Facebook community is active and Lewis reportedly participates.
The course material itself though? Experienced dropshippers will find it thin. The fundamentals taught here are available through Shopify's own free resources, YouTube channels, and cheaper courses. You're paying primarily for the UK-specific context, the community, and the coaching access — not for information you couldn't find elsewhere.
The Benefits of Dropship Unlocked
The UK focus is the headline benefit and it's a legitimate one. The vast majority of ecommerce courses are built around the US market. Tax structures, supplier relationships, consumer expectations, and advertising platforms all work differently in the UK. A course that acknowledges and addresses that reality is genuinely useful for a British audience.
The Home-Turf Advantage™ model — UK suppliers, next-day delivery, no overseas stock risk — solves real problems that plague traditional dropshipping. If you want to build a professional, sustainable ecommerce business rather than a quick cash-grab operation, this is a more respectable model.
The course does receive updates. It's not static content that was built in 2019 and never touched again. Lewis is actively running the business, producing new podcast content, and keeping the material relatively current.
And the 4.8 Trustpilot rating is worth acknowledging. That's not fabricated — Trustpilot has verification processes — and it suggests a meaningful number of students have had genuinely positive experiences.
The Downsides of Dropship Unlocked
The price is the elephant in the room. £3,000+ for a six-week course from an instructor who — while credible — doesn't have the decades of documented results that would justify that price tag is a hard sell. Ecom Elites, for example, gives you significantly more content and community for a fraction of the cost. The price of Dropship Unlocked simply isn't proportionate to what's delivered.
The sign-up process is unnecessarily complicated. A 16-page survey followed by a 45-minute sales call just to find out the price is not a transparent or respectful way to treat potential customers. It's a high-ticket sales funnel, and a fairly aggressive one.
The testimonial videos on Lewis's YouTube channel are a concern I want to flag directly. Several appear scripted, with people visibly reading from notes. I'm not going to tell you those people are paid actors — I can't verify that — but I'd encourage you to watch a few and make your own judgement before trusting them as genuine social proof.
The weekly drip-fed content model slows your progress unnecessarily. There's no good reason for this structure other than perceived value — it makes the course feel more substantial than it might if you could complete it in a weekend.
Conclusion: Is Dropship Unlocked Worth It?
If you're a UK resident who specifically wants to build a high-ticket dropshipping business using UK suppliers, and you have £3,000+ available, and you value having coaching access — then Dropship Unlocked is a legitimate option worth considering.
For everyone else, it's hard to recommend at this price. The core model is sound, Lewis knows what he's talking about, and the UK focus is a real advantage. But the content depth doesn't justify the cost, the sign-up process is designed to pressure rather than inform, and the refund policy has enough conditions to make it less reassuring than it sounds.
I give it 2.5 out of 5.
Alternatives to Dropship Unlocked
If you're looking for a strong dropshipping course that doesn't require a four-figure investment and a sales call just to find out the price, my recommendation is eCom Elites by Franklin Hatchett.
It covers dropshipping comprehensively — product selection, store setup, Facebook ads, Google ads, email marketing, and more — at a price of $197 for the standard version or $297 for the super pack. That's a one-time payment with lifetime access and free updates.
It's not UK-specific, which is a real tradeoff if you specifically want that focus. But the fundamentals of building a profitable dropshipping store translate across markets, and the quality of training is significantly higher per pound spent than what Dropship Unlocked offers.
