Ecom Elites Review: Everything You Need to Know Before Buying

Hey, Drew here. Welcome to my eCom Elites Review of Franklin Hatchett’s dropshipping course for 2024. I’m a real member and I bought the course (and many others) so because of this, I can give you first-hand experience if this course is good or not.

I spent 30+ hours dissecting eCom Elites with the help of a lot of coffee and even with my ADHD, I was able to get through it. 😉

Look, if you end up buying the wrong course – you might never be able to succeed with eCommerce & dropshipping. You might be promoting the wrong products, making huge mistakes with your marketing efforts, and even costing yourself a lot of money.

But don’t worry… I am here to tell you if eCom Elites is the best dropshipping course for your money or not.

What is eCom Elites?

eCom Elites is a drop shipping course taught by Franklin Hatchett. It teaches you how to start, grow, and scale your own dropshipping business using Shopify. If you want to make money online with dropshipping but need training, eCom Elites teaches you everything you need to know to start your own online store.

The modules cover many different topics such as:

• sourcing products (eliminate the guesswork and find ones that convert)
• finding suppliers (and how to avoid the bad ones for fewer headaches)
• how to create Facebook and Google ads (proper targeting and how to avoid spending money you don’t have to)
• email marketing (learn how to capture new and existing customers)
• social media marketing (learn how this will bring you even more customers and strengthen your brand)
• search engine optimization (get your site on Google and make more sales without having to pay for ads)

The training is done in video format. There are over 200 videos, 9 modules, and a bonus module. I’ll be covering everything you need to know about this course in this review.

Who is Franklin Hatchett?

Franklin Hatchett is an entrepreneur from New Zealand chances are you have seen him on his Youtube channel which currently has over 530K subs. He provides a lot of free income-generating tips on his channel. His experience came from his early start with his own dropshipping stores and being an affiliate marketer.

I found out about Franklin several years ago when dropshipping started becoming popular and was very interested in his free training. This led to me getting his course.

Franklin is best known for creating eCom Elites and Savage Affiliates, his affiliate marketing course.

His teaching style is very relaxed but goes into enough detail so that you don’t miss any crucial steps. If he throws in some jargon that you might not understand, he takes the time to explain what it means so you don’t feel confused.

Newbies will definitely benefit from his teaching style.

Does Dropshipping Still Work in 2024?

Dropshipping still works in 2024. However, the game has changed a little. Buyers have become a little savvier, and in order to succeed you need to build up trust with them, more than before.

Before people would “buy the product” but now you have to “sell your brand”. What I mean by this is that you need to do things better than your competition.

This includes outstanding customer service, a great-looking website with complementary colors, a premium theme, and a good-looking logo.

If you are willing to earn your customer’s business and provide top-notch customer support, then there’s no reason why you still can’t do very well with dropshipping in 2024.

So yes, dropshipping is certainly not dead.

Ecom Elites Standard VS eCom Elites Ultimate. What’s the Difference?

The Standard online course covers everything from intense product research, Facebook Ads, Instagram Ads, and email marketing.

What Can You Expect if You Buy the eCom Elites Course?

My review will include these additional modules so you know what you are getting if you opt for eCom Elites Ultimate.

The first thing you will notice is how the training is laid out. It’s all in video format and the platform it’s hosted on is Kajabi. Kajabi has a good reputation for serving your content and I have not seen any issues so far with the videos playing.

As for the training, there is no supplementary text for each video lesson so you will be required to take a lot of notes. It’s easy to get lost because of the number of videos in this course, but they are laid out well and easy to go back to.

The training is fluff-free as Franklin’s style is straight to the point. He doesn’t dilly-dally or get sidetracked by unrelated things.

You can expect the training to be clear, concise, and well-formatted. Each module builds on the previous one.

This will allow you to get your eCommerce business on the best track for success.

eCom Elites Course: Module Breakdown

This is where we will get into the course content and a full breakdown of each module.

eCom Introduction

Before hitting the training, you’ll get a welcome module telling you all about what to expect in the course and of course, the world of ecom.

Below is a screenshot of the first video in the introduction module. This module has 3 short videos welcoming you to the course, outlining expectations, and showing you some real results of Franklin’s members.

In the second video, you will see some of the results students have been getting. One of his students has generated a million dollars using his teachings. Some students make 8K a day, others 3K a day, others do 80K a month, and more.

You can also download 2 “books” which are really just cheat sheet guides. The first one is a “top niche book” that gives you a bunch of different niches and products that have sold well. You can try these out yourself or look for something similar. However, it’s a great guideline on where to start your research because it will give you ideas to find products to sell.

The second book is similar to the first with more examples of actual products that Franklin has sold using the dropshipping method. There’s no theory here, just product samples that you can test yourself.

Let’s jump into the main training now with all the modules included. I’ll break it down for you in simple terms and try to keep it short! Feel free to just skim through it 😉

Module 1: Setting up Your Store

In this module, Franklin gives you clear instructions with over-the-shoulder store setup training. He makes it really easy for all levels of understanding no matter if you’ve set up a website before or not. 

This newly revised training also goes into detail about niche and general type stores and which one you should choose. He tells you how to set up your store correctly and how to install a Shopify theme.

Franklin’s own premium Shopify theme – eCom Turbo is mentioned throughout his course material which is obviously a plug – but it’s a decent theme.

You will learn how to add products to your store, how to do proper store customization, add shipping rates, upsells, special offers, and product pages, and do promotions. He even teaches you how to set up taxes when needed.

Coupons are discussed and how you can use them to maximize conversions.

If you are based outside of the US, do not worry because Franklin shows you what to do – not many dropshipping courses go into this detail, and they kinda leave it alone for you to figure out. So yes, you can dropship if you’re not US-based. You will learn how to set up global payment methods and shipping options in this module.

Funnels are huge these days and very necessary if you want to survive in the eCom business. In this section, Franklin also teaches you how to set up Shopify store funnels which is going to give you an edge over your competition.

Module 2: Sourcing Products & Research

Here Franklin Hatchett goes into great detail on how to source products for your store. This is just one area where the course excels because one of the top questions newbie drop shippers have is:

“What products should I put in my store?” You’ll know exactly what to put on your store after this module.

Here Franklin helps you with:

• product and niche selection
• product sales volume
• how to get inspired with ideas
• how to find the right suppliers and build relationships
• how to find trending items

Videos also include print-on-demand, niche research software, and more.

Module 3: Facebook Traffic

This is the largest and probably the most intense section of the course. This is where you will earn your money with your ad campaigns if you follow his teachings on how to properly set up your FB ads.

Going at it alone could cost you a lot of money, that’s why I think this section alone is worth the price tag of his course.

He teaches everything you need to know about Facebook marketing such as: 

• Setting up your Facebook business account 
• Data mining – this is where you get usable data to help you sell products
• Bidding – how to bid and to ensure you don’t go over budget
• Conversions – how to optimize your ads for the best conversions
• Creation of different ad types – this includes video ads, photo ads, slideshows, carousel, canvas, and dynamic product ads
• Facebook Pixel – how to set up and maximize for better conversions
• Fan Pages – learn how to create a fan page for a product or category
• Ad Copy – how to write ads that convert
• Ad Campaign Data – how to interpret data from campaigns to tweak them for higher profits
• Ad Spending – how to keep this to a minimum and when you should either scale, change or kill your ads.

This Facebook Traffic module is continuously updated so you always have the latest strategies. If there’s any single update an ecom course should do it’s with FB ads so good to see it gets updated.

Module 4: Instagram Traffic Training

If you know anything about Instagram you’ll know that just a single influencer can make you a lot of money. Franklin teaches you how to find the right influencer for your business and also helps you to avoid overpaying. He also goes into detail on how to set up your Instagram account properly.

This module in eCom Elites is not as intense as the Facebook ads module and rightly so, as it’s not nearly as complicated. It’s detailed enough to give you all the training you need to master Instagram.

This includes:

• Instagram retargeting (retarget users that have visited your site to get more sales)
• Finding influencers (get popular influencers in your niche to promote your product)
• How to run Instagram adverts and more (learn how to do this without breaking the bank!)
• Schedule posts – Keep your followers engaged by providing consistent content

Currently, there are 9 videos in this module. I was pretty impressed with the knowledge bombs dropped here. You’ll walk away from this module being a pro at Instagram marketing – selling more products!

Module 5: Email Marketing Blueprint

The Email Marketing module has 14 videos all going into great detail. He even throws in a couple of bonus videos discussing the use of coupons and how to win customers back and retain them as lifelong customers.

You will learn how to set up your email marketing campaign using GetResponse or MailChimp.  Frank shows his unique way to set up your autoresponder which can get complicated but each step is explained in such a manner that it’s not confusing.

Don’t ignore setting up an email campaign. Having a responsive email list of customers can increase your income by 20% or more if done properly. Franklin does an excellent job explaining how to do it right.

There are a lot of videos in this section including sending out newsletters, warming up leads, how to get better open rates, setting up a lead generation list, installing a Contact Flow pixel, creating a landing page, and setting up campaigns for customer acquisition, and more.

When you’re done with this module email marketing will be clear to you and no longer confusing. Email lists that have been built up over time with targeted and dedicated buyers can increase your sales by 10-20% or more.

Module 6: Chatbot Profits

Included in the standard and ultimate version eCom Elites is the new chatbot section. I’m glad Franklin included this because Chat Bots have really taken off. It’s a great way to get leads and to increase engagement with your store.

The videos in this section teach you everything you need to know about what they are and how to set them up. Things like setting up chatbot ads via chat popup boxes, virtual answers to your customer questions, alert boxes, and chat flows – all are taught.

It’s cool stuff and you’d be leaving money on the table if you don’t incorporate it. It seems complicated but it’s not. You’re taught step by step and anyone can do it.

Module 7: Building Sales Funnels

For those that buy the Ultimate package is a module that includes setting up a sales funnel. Frank says this is something you should be using nowadays but as a newbie, it’s something you can wait to do a little down the road after you start getting sales. 

However, the only caveat here is that the sales funnel training is done with Clickfunnels which requires a subscription.

There are other options besides Clickfunnels as it is a bit expensive. However, once you get going you will see the value of this module and Franklin will show you how to maximize profits using this software.

You are going to learn things like how to create and edit funnels, Shopify integration with funnels, how to connect your Stripe and PayPal payments, install tracking pixels, add products, funnel retargeting, and more.

Module 8: Google Ads

This module is for Ultimate Subscribers only. 

Here you’ll learn how to set up Google Ads, including the Google Pixel, how to work the platform, set up retargeting campaigns, create text ads, create an audience, and more. He also discusses the pros and cons of using Google Ads on Facebook.

In the Google Shopping section, you’ll learn:

• how to start your merchant account
• connect the Google Shopping App to your store
• learn how to do proper keyword research for Google Shopping Ads
• setting up your advertisements
• how to properly do keyword research
• how to do proper ad layout.

You’ll also learn how to get your ads seen under other people’s YouTube videos.

This tactic alone is so powerful because you can target other videos based on keywords so that people will see your ad directly under the video of the same topic.

For what Franklin is charging for this course, the extra value the ultimate option provides is MORE than worth it.

Module 9: Organic Google Traffic (SEO)

You’ll learn to get free traffic from SEO in both the Standard and Ultimate options of his course.

Most ecom courses will focus on paid ads before organic traffic. With SEO, your profit margins will increase because of the free traffic.

This module gives you an introduction to SEO with 8 videos. If you’ve never done SEO before you’ll get pretty basic SEO training with a focus on backlinking. This is because SEO for an eCom store is quite different than with a blog, for example.

Backlinking is where other sites link to yours. This tells the search engines that “hey, this site is kinda popular” and start to rank it higher than others.

Besides backlinking, you’ll also learn about keyword research and what you should be targeting.

Mostly white-hat backlinking strategies are taught so stick with those. Avoid any grey or black hat strategies that can get you into trouble. 

Paid ads are great to start with. This is because if you find a successful campaign, you can then focus your SEO on the keywords around that product or niche.

Bonus Content Module: Increase Sales & Top Secret Videos

Getting an edge over other marketers in your space is always a great thing. Here Franklin drops videos on things like 

• coupon tricks
• using review sites for leverage
• Facebook Ninja spying
• warranties to crush it
• profitable Youtube tactics

I found this module in eCom Elites beneficial because I wasn’t aware of some of these strategies.

They are great to add to your arsenal of “tricks.”

Franklin keeps you updated with anything important in the Ecom world.

Things like:

• using the insights tool for the best targeting possible
• discover new manual bidding methods to get an edge over the competition
• Affinity, the secret sauce of getting email profits and more.

What I can really appreciate here is that a lot of courses will get outdated after a year or so but Franklin keeps you in the loop. 

From my understanding looking at this module, it will be updated with important info as he gets it. A lot of courses never do updates – this is one of the reasons I respect Franklin a lot. You don’t need to buy the course again once it is updated. He doesn’t screw you over like other course creators whenever an update is made.

Updates are free – for life!

Facebook Group

With your purchase of Frank’s eCom Elites course, you get access to the private Facebook Mastermind group. There are a lot of members in this very active group and it’s a positive atmosphere with like-minded individuals like yourself.

 If you ever feel stuck or have a concern, you’ll get your question answered. Although my advice to you is just to follow the training and never deviate from it.

The Facebook group is a good resource to confirm anything that you might be unsure of and also a place for inspiration from many of Hatchett’s students.

What I Like About eCOm Elites (The Pros)

There are many dropshipping courses out there but there are 3 main reasons why I think eCom Elites is the best dropshipping course.

With the cost for the Ultimate package just under $300, it’s a bargain compared to higher-priced courses that can cost you up to $5000 for something similar.

If for some reason before 30 days is up and you just aren’t having any luck, simply send an email to the support team and ask for a refund. eCom Elites has very low refund rates because the content is that good. It’s likely you won’t need a refund but the option is there for your protection.

3. Quality of Content

The main strong point of the course is the quality of content. Not only is there an abundance of it (over 200 videos) but the training is high quality. There are many references to other information outside of the course, actual examples, case studies, and Frank’s ability to get the message across in a clear manner.

4. Updates Included

With your subscription, updates are free for life. You will never have to pay for updates, unlike many other courses.

5. No fluff or BS

There’s no fluff or BS in this course. Frank Hatchett goes into great detail and doesn’t wander off into areas that have nothing to do with the course.

6. Includes Free Traffic Methods

While most e-commerce courses will only tell you to focus on paid traffic, eCom Elites also shows you how to get free traffic. These methods are different from the SEO methods taught in the course and can help increase profit margins even more.

7. Great For Beginners

Regardless of your skill level, you’ll be able to create a fully-fledged online store. You do not need any experience in eCommerce or building websites. All in taught in the course. Many students have gone on to build 6-figure eCommerce stores.

8. Experienced Trainer

Franklin Hatchett “walks the walk” with this course. He actually runs his own dropshipping stores so the experience he gained from running these online stores is passed on to you.

9. More Than Just Facebook Ads

While most ecom courses just teach FB Ads, Franklin has a complete Google Ads module. This is going to help you to generate sales on a higher scale.

The measure of a good course is the success of its students. eCom Elites has many successful students with some students having built 5 and 6-figure-a-month stores.

11 . Create Killer Sales Funnels

Franklin Hatchett is an expert in sales funnels. He’s made over a million dollars with his sales funnels. The proof is in the 2 “2-Comma-Club” awards he got from Clickfunnels.

With eCom Elite, you are going to get the same funnels that Franklin used. All you have to do is modify them to suit your product(s). Most of the work has been done for you already, giving you a head start and avoiding the testing phase.

12. Become an Email Marketing Wizard

Most dropshipping courses won’t teach you email marketing or have a very small section on the subject. Franklin goes into a lot of detail about how to set up your email campaigns and it doesn’t matter if you’re a beginner or not.

Franklin shows you how to use email autoresponders and suggests you use GetResponse. and shows you how to create workflows, how to format emails, how to email those that have abandoned carts, and more. Your dropshipping store will be supported with an effective email campaign to bring you more sales.

What I Don’t Like About eCOm Elites (The Cons)

1. Video Training Only

Although I prefer online training in video format, what I have seen with other courses is a summary or supplementary text after each video. It would be helpful if the course had this for each video for quick reference.

2. SEO Training is a bit out of Date

Although there are 8 videos on SEO, the training is a bit basic and out of date. SEO is constantly evolving. However, if you have no understanding of SEO, this will still help you and give you an edge over competitors that don’t have any SEO strategy.

3. Focus on AliExpress

eCom Elites focuses on sourcing products from AliExpress. It would have been good to have other options. Especially dropshipping companies in your own country so shipping times would be faster.

However, you can use inexpensive tools like Salehoo to find more suppliers in any country, so that solves this issue.

eCom Elites Success Stories

There are many success stories from people who have taken the course. I found them not just on the sales page but in the Facebook Group too.

I think part of the success of eCom Elites comes from knowing that many students have had success with it.

What Others Think of eCom Elites

I often check 3rd party reviews and Reddit for what people are saying about course creators, software, etc. Sometimes you have to take Reddit with a grain of salt because there’s a lot of BS on there but also some legitimate comments.

In regards to what people are saying about eCom Elites on Reddit, it’s overwhelmingly positive. I have not seen many negative posts and the ones I have seen are people who believe you can “do dropshipping yourself” without the need for a course. You’ll never change people’s opinions who think like that.

Having said that here are some comments about eCom Elites from Reddit:

Alternatives to eCom Elites

eCom Elites is often compared to other dropship courses. Here are some alternatives:

eCom Elites VS Ecom Success Academy (ESA)

Adrian Morrison’s Ecom Success Academy is very similar to Franklin Hatchett’s eCom Elites. However, there are some key differences.

• ESA costs $2495, that’s $2,298 more than eCom Elites
• ESA has some training on print-on-demand, while eCom Elites does not
• ESA comes with its proprietary software to find products called the Sizzle Product Sniper software. Hatchett’s course does not come with any software.
• eCom Elites trains you on how to use chatbots, search engine optimization, and Instagram Influencer marketing while ESA does not teach any of this.
• eCom Elites (Ultimate Version) has an entire module on Google ads with 17 videos. ESA has only one video with very little information.

Judging from the differences between the two, you can see that eCom Elites has much better value for your money.

I do like the product-finding software that ESA has, but you can get a tool called “SellTheTrend” which does the same thing but is even better. It’s a paid tool at $39 a month, but heck, you are saving $2298 by choosing eCom Elites instead.

eCom Elites VS Dropship Lifestyle

Dropship Lifestyle is also a dropshipping course by Anton Kraly also known as the guy who lives the ‘laptop lifestyle’. However, DSL focuses on high-ticket items while eCom Elites focuses on low-ticket items.

To illustrate this using an example, a DSL store would sell things like lawnmowers or furniture, whereas an eCom Elites type store would sell inexpensive gadgets like kitchen utensils or toys for dogs and cats.

Price is also a huge factor. Dropship Lifestyle costs $2997 vs $197 for eCom Elites.

eCom Elites VS Udemy Dropshipping Courses

You can find plenty of Dropshipping courses on Udemy for under 20 bucks.

The problem with these courses is that they are mostly created by unknowns or people looking to capitalize on making money with online courses.

Most of the course creators have never actually started a dropshipping business before like Franklin or Adrian Morrison from ESA and Anton Kraly from Dropship Lifestyle.

You could end up spending more money in the long run with a cheap course due to bad and outdated strategies.

Exposed: eCom Elites and Dropshipping vs Lead Generation

I am sure you have seen other eCom Elites reviews that try to convince you that dropshipping isn’t that great and that you should do lead generation instead.

Lead Generation is a completely different business model from dropshipping. It involves setting up a website for local businesses where you will then sell the leads to them.

You would need to rank this in the search engines like Google so you’d have to be very good at SEO.

Also, you need to do shady tricks to get into the “Snack Pack” which looks like this:

To get here, you need a physical address. This is because Google will need to verify the address by physically mailing (not emailing!) a postcard to the address you provide. You then need to confirm it with the code they send.

Virtual offices no longer work as Google has caught onto this. You could probably bribe someone with money to use their address though. However, don’t do that!

On top of this, It’s a hyper-competitive business and you’ll not only be competing with other experienced SEOs doing lead gen but with other legitimate businesses. These businesses have been around for years and also have companies doing SEO for them.

I’m not saying lead generation is a bad business model, but it’s WAY different than dropshipping. And, these courses cost anywhere from $5000 and up.

These affiliates will tell you they are not affiliates of eCom Elites. However, they are affiliates of these lead gen courses that cost thousands of dollars. They are in it for the money.

So don’t get suckered into something you initially had no interest in.
