Jon Penberthy Review: Youtuber, Marketer & Course Creator

British guy Jon Penberthy is probably not the biggest name in the world of marketing. You may not have ever heard of him.

However, he has a plethora of courses out there, and there is actual evidence that this guy is making bank.

So, is it worth learning from him? That is what I want to take a look at in this Jon Penberthy review. Strap in.

Who is Jon Penberthy?

Jon is a British marketer with a 50K+ following on Facebook. He claims to have made most of his money from affiliate marketing and other forms of lead generation, but it seems that the bulk of his cash comes in through the sale of his courses. At least that's what it seems. He's also a very good speaker and often draws in a decent crowd in his seminars.

Honestly, I do not know much about Jon beyond this. He tends to keep all of that on the 'down-low'. He does have a YouTube channel, which has about 4,000 subscribers.

He has also attached his name to a variety of courses. At first glance, it would look as if this is a guy who has heard about selling internet marketing products and wants to make a quick buck.

However, as you start to dive into a few of the things that he has to offer, you will be surprised at what he brings to the table.

Net Worth

I do not know exactly how much money Jon has in the bank. What I can tell you is that his company has a net worth of about $160,000. This means that I wouldn't exactly call John a millionaire (I doubt most people that claim they are in this game are), but what I can say is that he does have a sizeable amount of cash.

This has come from his various marketing ventures. I am not quite sure how he manages to have this much cash in the bank, but alas, he seems to. I can't argue with actual company accounts, can I?

Is He a Scam Artist?

I don't think he is. His products do have value in them.

Granted, he does make a few wild claims on occasion which I simply can't believe (I do not know why a guy is selling a YouTube traffic course when he isn't that popular on YouTube), but I think if you put the majority of his techniques into practice, there is a pretty decent chance you can make money from them.

You will only feel duped if you are not willing to put in all that effort. This really applies to every course you buy folks - provided it's a good course.

You need to learn from a good foundation otherwise you're wasting your time and money.

Fortunately for you, that's the focus of my blog here - buying courses and giving you my honest review.

YouTube Channel

Jon has a YouTube channel that is called "Legit Online Marketing". He also has another channel under his name but there hasn't been much uploaded there in a long time. For his latest channel, he releases content on a regular basis.

I am not going to lie and say that it is successful, though. At the time of this writing he has about 4K subscribers. I doubt the main purpose of the channel is for him to rack up a ton of subs, though.

The whole purpose of his channel is to filter traffic through to his funnels. I think he actually does a good job of this.

Courses

Jon has a ton of different courses to his name. I have tried to track down as many of them as I could, but it is likely that I am missing a couple. For a while, it seems like he was releasing a ton in the hope of seeing what sticks.

I do know that I have managed to get the main ones though i.e. the ones that you are probably going to bump into.

It is also worth noting that Jon has teamed up with Jubil Agoro for a course. This is 'Social Traffic Blueprint'. As the name suggests; it will go into depth on how to gain traffic on social media.

It is a little bit different from the other courses Jon provides, and it is fantastic having two 'top talents' working on producing a course. It may be worth checking out if you are interested in generating traffic via social media.

Tube Traffic Mastery

This is the first course from Jon. As the name suggests; in this course, you are going to be introduced to gaining traffic on a YouTube channel. As this is the first course from him, it is no longer available.

I remember back in the day being on a webinar with Jon and another marketer pushing this course. It was about $500 back then and I almost bought it. I would have if Youtube was something that I was interested in for affiliate marketing but at the time I was only focused on building a blog.

Even if you could buy it, I probably wouldn't recommend that you pick it up. This is because the information here is out of date.

If you absolutely must buy a course from Jon that teaches gaining traffic via social media, then I think the 'Social Traffic Blueprint' is probably going to be the best route to go down here.

Tube Ads Academy

This course is one of the more recent of them. In this course, you will learn how to use YouTube ads to your advantage.

This is something that Jon does regularly (he loves to filter traffic through to his funnels), so I absolutely recommend that you look at this if you are considering gaining traffic this way. This is a guy who knows what he is talking about.

Ad Value Training

This is another course that has been produced alongside Jubil Agoro. This course teaches how to make money from Facebook ads.

Again, this is something that Jon has a ton of experience in. This course is a lot more in-depth than the 'Social Traffic Blueprint' that I talked about earlier. This one is almost certainly geared towards those with larger ad spends.

Legit Marketing Academy

The final course is probably the most extensive. This teaches you all about the power of sales funnels and how you can use them to gain high paying clients.

There is also a lot of talk about using video ads to your advantage here. Once again, this is something that Jon does regularly, so you know that the content here is going to be of high quality.

Conclusion and Final Thoughts

I wouldn't say Jon is one of the more popular internet marketing "guru's" out there but he is gaining in popularity especially after teaming up with Jubril Agoro.

If you are interested in gaining traffic via paid ads (or YouTube traffic), then it may be worth keeping an eye on him.

His courses are fairly affordable for what you get, and the guy is great to listen to.

He has a provable income too, which counts for a lot in the world of internet marketing.

As always, I am on the lookout for marketers that are proven and scam free.

If affiliate marketing interests you and open to a different approach from Jon, then take a look at these courses that I rank very highly.

  1. I watched the webinar and he didn’t deliver what he promised in the ad. He recorded the webinar pretending it was happening live and wasted my time on endless advertisement for his product instead of delivering what he promised during the ad. Big red flags there.

  2. Probably legit, but beware high-pressure marketing.

For his top-end courses, the funnel includes a phone call with his team. He claims that this isn’t high pressure and is designed to filter out unsuitable candidates.

I was up-front about the fact that I don’t have the funds to afford the course right now, so was surprised when they scheduled a call. Found myself talking to a sales guy who used every high-pressure trick in the book with the not-so-subtle subtext that I was a loser if I didn’t borrow the money to join the course. Irresponsible, and the very tactic that got Trump Academy into such trouble with the US courts.

So not as squeaky clean as the image he likes to project.

You understated his net current assets a little (£211k in 2019). He carries a fair bit of debt, but his reported VAT liability suggests a turnover in line with his claims. I suspect it’s a decent course and worth the investment if you have a good product, but only if you have substantial cash in hand. Much of this will be available for free if you do your research – most marketing is simply applied common-sense. Check out the old-time direct marketing gurus – their work is still relevant.
