If you own an ecommerce store and you're not advertising on Google Shopping, you could be missing out on a lot of sales. This is why you should seriously consider doing it. Facebook ads are good, but having an additional strategy to bring in sales is simply a no-brainer.
In comes Dennis Moons with his course called Google Shopping Success - the focus of my review today.
Google Shopping isn't exactly new, it's been around for several years now. Your competitors are using it, why aren't you? In order to compete with them you are going to need the tools necessary to succeed. That tool is a good course and today we will see if this one is something you should invest in.
The course is $249 for a one time fee or 3 payments of $90. It's a relatively short course with 40 videos totaling just over 5 hours. I guess the good news is you could knock off the course in one day.
Who is Dennis Moons?
Dennis is the founder of his company called Store Growers. He's an ecommerce expert in PPC and doesn't just teach this stuff but actually uses Google Ads campaigns in his own businesses.
He's an official Google Partner (I am too btw) where he's worked with many clients and between himself and them has managed ad spend over $3.5 million. Impressive!
Who is This Course For?
If you're an agency owner or consultant you will benefit. If you're an online store owner with a dropshipping and/or high ticket store, you also will benefit from his material.
Google Shopping Success Review: A look Inside
So as mentioned before, there are 4 modules which i'll list below.
As mentioned before, you can buzz through this course in a day if you want to as it's relatively short. Let's take a look into the material to see if this will be worth it to you.
In this module titled "Setting up for Success" you will learn about product feeds, setting up your Google Merchant Center and how to fix any issues with the merchant center - they have a lot at times!
You will also learn how to set up your Google Ads and Analytics.
You're also going to learn how to set up product feeds on Shopify, WooCommerce and other platforms.
This module is really geared towards beginners new to the platform and is essentially a "how to" type section. Dennis gives a pretty good explanation as to how all this stuff comes together.
In the From Launch to Sales module, there are 10 videos that show you how to launch your campaign, how to optimize, and how to set up your account.
You will also learn how to incorporate negative keywords, do bidding & bid adjustments and an optimization routine video where he shows you what you need to do on an ongoing basis to get better results. The last video is in tracking sales in Google Analytics.
This module was a little more advanced than the first and has some good strategies on how to get your campaigns going and start making sales. The videos are straight to the point with little filler.
In the module titled "Save and Scale" you'll get 14 videos of various length, the longest being about 25 minutes.
This module has one goal and that is to help you save money in the ads that are underperforming and to scale the ads that are working. This module has more advanced topics from the previous module with different strategies that you can try.
You'll learn how to set up custom labels, search query level bidding, product feed optimization, competitive research, star ratings, data feed tools and more.
You won't use all of these strategies but they are there if you need them. Again the detail is pretty good and Dennis explains it well.
Beyond Google Shopping is the title of the last module. By now, you would have had instruction on how to configure all your tools, launched your campaigns, and also enhanced them with the advanced tactics that were taught.
As your business evolves along with other things like your competitors, Google Shopping itself (we just love it when they change their platform around and do all those crazy algorithm updates!) you need to stay on top of the game.
Dennis' message is that there is still work ahead. This module focuses on a broader picture as to what is possible beyond Google Shopping.
To start off you are going to learn about all the remarketing strategies that Google offers. These include dynamic remarketing, remarketing lists for search ads and static remarketing. The last video talks about "from shopping to search" where instead of remarketing to those that have been at your site already, here you will focus on reaching new audiences.
Final Thoughts on the Course
If you have never done Google Shopping Ads before you will definitely learn something from this course. A lot of it is applicable to those that are an agency owner, consultant or store owner.
However, if you are strictly doing dropshipping with Shopify, there are some other alternatives I think you really should look at.
Having Google Shopping instruction with the basis being ecommerce/dropshipping only, is going to laser target your training much more.
There are two experts in Google Shopping for dropshipping that I highly recommend you take a look at.
The first is Franklin Hatchett with his Ecom Elites Course.
You'll need the "Ultimate" version of the course which is $297, which is just $48 more than Google Shopping Success.
The advantage here is that you've got 175 videos of instruction on everything from A-Z on how to start a dropshipping business with a module on Google Shopping that is very laser targeted to this business. If you're doing dropshipping on Shopify, I would recommend this option more than Google Shopping Success because you are getting so much more.

The second option is Tristan Broughton's Google Ads Ecom Academy.
Tristan is also an expert in Google Shopping Ads for dropshipping on Shopify. His course is a little more expensive than Franklin's and to be honest it's really hard to say which one is better. They are both excellent courses and I would guess it comes down to who do you want to be taught by.
